ASUS has problems with Open Source software
ASUSTeK (ASUS) caught for breaking agreement with GPL (General Public License). This company installed modified version of Linux on their new budget notebook – Eee PC.

The reason ASUS has problem with OpenSource Association is that company modified core of the Xandros operating system. According to the agreement ASUS has to distribute the original core and put original code for the modified version.
This is the one of the points in the agreement that helps protect OpenSource OS from commercial usage. Distributive that ASUSTeK putted on their notebook was 1.8 Gb size and did not contain any source codes.
