According to the data specialists form England some of the Seagate hard drive that been used in MacBooks are defective. This defect can cause information loss.

The heads of the Seagate SATA hard drive getting lose and start making deep marks on the disk surface which leads to the information loss. This hard drive problem probably caused by the mistakes in manufacture process. MacBook users have to check the brand of the hard drive and firmware version, If your MacBook has Seagate hard drive and firmware is 7.01 then you must back up your data and replace hard drive as soon as possible.
The marks on the surface cannot be repaired even by the data restore companies. moving heads make marks on the unique parts of the hard disk and eliminate the way of fixing it. Apple did not release any news or recall for that malfunction of their products.
