Ultra light flash memory from Intel
Intel will introduce new solid state memory which will weight around 0.6 g. In the begging of the next year on the Consumer Electronics Show 2008, which takes a place in the Los-Vegas, Intel will be introducing new solid memory based on the flash memory technology.
The name of the new device is Z-P140 and it will be available in two sizes – 2Gb and 4Gb. New memory designed for the mobile devices and ultra portable computers with Menlow operating system for the new mobile devices.
The “heart” of the new device built on the Menlow platform will be Silverthorne processor built on the 45 nm technologies. Also new ultra mobile devices will have Wi-Fi and WiMAX technology integrated right beside four pieces of the new Z-P140 memory (16 Gb in total).
Intel Z-P140 has 18x12x1.8 mm dimensions and 0.6 g weight. Devices based on the new Menlow platform will be coming out in the middle of the next year built by such companies as ASUS, BenQ, Lenovo and others.
